What cars do we use for our safaris?

Our guides have extensive knowledge and experience in wildlife tracking and identification as well as vehicle maintenance and safety. They speak excellent English, Kiswahili, and at least one more local language, and have great senses of humor.
They are native Tanzanians and have amazing stories of their own to share. A good driver guide makes or breaks your safari experience so we put great care into matching you up with a top-quality guide that will quickly become a trusted friend and valued travel companion.
To get the most out of your Tanzania safari, tap into the valuable resource you have in your guide. Ask questions—lots of questions. Do a little research on your own before your safari to see if you can stump him with a few of your questions. He’ll be happy to learn from you, too. Get to know a little about your guide, his family, his own favorite animals or safari memories.

Transportation for your safari will be meticulously maintained 5- or 7-passenger 4X4 Toyota Land Cruisers, depending on your group size. Each passenger has a window seat with a lap belt. Our Land Cruisers are equipped with a pop-up roof for 360-degree game viewing and great photo ops, a coffee and tea basket, and a mini-fridge to keep your bottled water chilled. Your guide will happily share his binoculars, park maps, and favorite wildlife guidebooks with you during the safari, or you can bring your own (ask us if you’d like recommendations). Vehicles also have a two-way radio, two spare tires, a toolkit, a fire extinguisher, and a basic First Aid kit.
Luggage storage space inside the safari vehicle is limited. We recommend packing light, bringing only the essentials, and highly recommend using soft-sided bags to make it easier for your guide to get everything properly stowed.
In-town or highway transportation may vary, as 4-wheel drive will not be necessary.
